I received my Pilot Custom 823 in amber today, and I’m amazed at how lovely it is… I suspected from the reviews that it would be wonderful but it’s the perfect weight, ink capacity, and it’s absolutely beautiful. The fine nib is probably my favourite part; it writes like an extra fine, but has the sturdiness of a fine, with very slight line variation due to the flexibility of the gold. There’s a good reason why certain famous authors call this pen their go-to for their longhand writing, I’m obsessed! (Also it’s worth noting that the ink bottle has a genius little mechanism that involves turning it upside down, filling a compartment, and then filling the pen, so that you will never waste ink!) 10/10 would buy 50 of them if I could.
